One could say that this album, composed in 2018, is my first in eight years that wasn’t about exhuming or exploring a subject or experience. Instead it is about (or it simply is) sitting with experience.

Neuroplasticity (at least at the moment… it may prove difficult to reflect on things that are such recent developments) marks my exit from 25 years (17 years in 12-step programs, and 8 years getting myself untangled with [though not necessarily from] them) of making sense of both life’s challenges and of the ways that I have learned to get along with those challenges… and an embrace of life just being challenging (an experience), without necessarily being a challenge (an intransigent thing). Life is not a challenge. Living presents challenges.
