In the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic, with my voice shot and unable to see an otolaryngologist, I focused my energy on an album of short "quips" from other artists that had caught and kept my attention over the years. At first, I had about 9 of these queued up, but in the end only three of them seemed to hold up. I also wanted this album to be listenable in one sitting and to have some stylistic musical continuity. After about 15 minutes, I felt the style was close to exhausting itself (especially for one sitting).

The "quips" come from John Cage, Paul Tillich and (paraphrased) from Antonio Machado.
