The three songs with lyrics on this album are the beginning of going through 993 pages of miscellaneous poetry that I scanned in 2003-2004 (written between 1984 and probably 2001) as we were getting ready to leave the States and move to Indonesia. Frankly I have no idea what might have brought most of these words together (if anything... for a long time the goal in my writing was to confound understanding in interesting ways... because I viewed myself as being simply on vacation in life... and wanting my vacation to be interesting).

The more-or-less ambient instrumentals, likewise, are more happenstance than intent. I relate them more with the process that was involved in creating them than with their final content. Part of this process was purchasing some new dynamic multi-effect processors that allow me to more-easily achieve some of the evolving noise modulation that I've been arriving at through progressively more labour-intensive processes on albums produced (or remastered) mostly over the last year.
